The Salvation Army provides a drop in shelter for homeless people in Taipei providing support for men, women and children who are homeless.
Some of the services provided by the centre include: meals, medical care, shower and laundry facilities, hair cuts, clothing and toiletries, sleeping bags.
The Salvation Army also provides qualified social workers, pastoral care, chapel services and community outreach.
Through its Shelter in Taipei, The Salvation Army provides training and education to the homeless in areas such as food preparation, woodwork and environmental management.
This program has seen a number of its young clients go on to achieve formal certificates and enter the workforce. These are the pathways provided by The Salvation Army to assist people to re-engage with Society as an inclusive member of the community.
